Private J Abbott

Private Abbott was a former pupil of Southam Council School whose name was announced on a list of 35 serving former scholars in May 1915.[1]

This was possibly John Thomas Abbott, who was born in 1888 son of agricultural labourer Thomas Abbott and his wife Eliza (nee Bicknell). Of their younger sons William was killed but Richard (called Dick – also listed by the school) survived.

More information about ‘Private J Abbott’ is needed to establish his story.
