2015 Social Event

On Friday Aug 14th over 50 members, supporters and friends enjoyed a buffet supper at the Southam Cricket Club followed by an after dinner talk by Mike Brown (The Historic Gardener) on the subject of Edwardian Gardens. The talk was thoroughly enjoyed by all present including a town twinning visitor from France. Mike covered all aspects of Edwardian Gardens including design, tools, pest control (no messing about in those days) and the people who did all the work. Mike also brought along a fantastic display of original gardening tools, some of which looked like they belonged behind locked glass!

The dinner was prepared and served by Linda, Pam, Helen and Jenny, and Barbara Pink kindly provided the flower decorations for each table for which there was no shortage of takers at the end of the evening. Everyone had an excellent time with a great meal and an unusual and very entertaining talk.

See Mike’s web site for further details about him and his talks.
